About WBC Ventures
Over 12 years incubating and financing health start-ups
Biotech Coaching SA was created in 2006 to boost the emergence of the Belgian life science industry. Under its brand name WBC Incubator, our firm provided pre-seed financing and managerial services to promising biotech and medtech start-ups companies during 12 years.
Over that period, our expert team went on to analyze 250+ start-up projects, resulting in pre-seed financing decisions totaling 6.5 millions € and in the activation of 300 consulting missions ranging from interim management mandates to validation studies in market access or regulatory affairs.
In the meantime, life science companies in our portfolio succeeded in raising 74+ millions € from seed and series A investors in order to support the development phase of their innovative healthcare products and services. In addition, one of our first portfolio companies went public in 2015.
Observing the exciting maturation of the European life science sector, and realizing that scaling-up companies are being confronted with new challenges and new needs moving ahead, Biotech Coaching SA decided in 2017 to expand its services.
Taking WBC Ventures as its new brand name, our expert team is now giving full priority to offering an enhanced array of mentoring and networking solutions to those ambitious life science companies that want to expand globally.
Organized around an acceleration program dedicated to streamlining and derisking the internationalization phase of our clients, WBC Ventures also provides market access and site selection analysis, business screening and scouting assistance as well as interactions with selected investment and advisory partners so as to ensure their best and fastest success going forward.

The life science industry used to be defined as a fairly straightforward collection of companies active in the fields of biotech and medtech technologies, combined with other organizations aimed at either servicing or regulating them. Nowadays, everything in the world of health innovation is in flux, with the rapid emergence of both new players and new dynamics.
